The Basmanny District Court in Moscow ruled on Sunday (March 24) that four suspects in the Moscow Concert Hall attack should be detained pending trial.
A statement from the District Court said that all four suspects were charged with terrorism related to the attack and faced life imprisonment.
The official Telegram channel of the Moscow court said that the four suspects are Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Saidakrami Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni, and Mukhammadsobir Faizov.
The court said the four suspects will be remanded in custody until May 22, and three suspects have pleaded guilty to all charges. Russian media said that the four suspects are Tajik citizens living in Russia.
Russia held a day of mourning on Sunday (March 24) after a deadly attack on a concert hall in a Moscow suburb two days ago killed more than 137 people, including three children, and injured more than 180 others.
Rescue teams continued to search for survivors in the charred halls. The Russian Ministry of Health said hundreds of people lined up in Moscow to donate blood.
Friday’s attack was the deadliest in Russia since Islamist militants kidnapped more than 1,000 hostages, including hundreds of children, from a school in Beslan in 2004.
The Islamic State terror group claimed responsibility for Friday’s attack.
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his “deepest condolences” to the families of the victims in a nationally televised address on Saturday, declared a national day of mourning, and vowed to find and punish those responsible for “bloody, barbaric acts of terror.” He said 11 people were detained, including four militants.
