Saturday, 10 December, is The World Human Rights Day.

December 10 also marks the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.

“The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a landmark document proclaiming this natural right of every human being, without distinction as to race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinions, national or social origin, property, birth or other status,” the United Nations said. The

United Nations launched a year-long campaign to promote and recognize the declaration. The United Nations says the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is “a global blueprint for international, national, local law and policy.”

“The UDHR’s guarantees of dignity and equal rights have been under constant attack in recent years,”

the UN said, and “at a time when the world is facing new and emerging challenges such as pandemics, conflict, explosive inequality, a morally bankrupt global financial system, racism, and climate change, the clear values and rights of the UDHR provide a guide for collective action without leaving a single person behind.” ”
