Chinese officials adhere to the “zero” policy to fight the new crown pneumonia epidemic, accumulating public grievances. On November 22, the Chinese social media outlet WeChat circulated an article called “Ten Questions,” asking China’s National Health Commission a series of questions about epidemic prevention, and openly questioning the Chinese authorities’ criteria for decision-making on epidemic prevention, citing the situation in Hong Kong and the World Cup as examples, but the article was quickly deleted. Some commentators compared the article to last month’s banner-pulling incident at Beijing’s Sitong Bridge.
The “Ten Questions” issued by the WeChat public account “Chang’an Classroom” put forward a series of sharp questions, including “Is China’s domestic vaccine useful”, “How many people have died from Omicron”, and Zhong Nanshan and other experts have shown that Omicron is very toxic, “Why do we have to control a disease that is not fatal”, “What price do we have to pay to zero out an invisible virus?” ”

Observers who went by the pseudonym Ding Liang for security reasons believe that it is quite rare for the article to criticize China’s epidemic prevention policies in such direct and detailed detail in public forums. She said that the author is quite rational, and the article also speaks to the hearts of many ordinary Chinese people.
Ding Liang said: “It points out the problem more comprehensively. Such articles have been difficult to post on Chinese social media for nearly a year or two. The pandemic now seems to be over in the world’s eyes. Chinese mainland because of the goal of zero clearance, cities large and small across the country are in lockdown. Government officials don’t have to worry about not being paid, but ordinary people, if they don’t work, won’t have income. The people are suffering, but why don’t the relevant parties abandon the zero policy? I think it’s out of the need for social control. From top to bottom, everyone agreed to achieve this impossible goal. ”

“Ten Questions” questioned Chinese mainland comparison
of different articles on Hong Kong’s epidemic prevention policies and Hong Kong’s epidemic prevention policies
Chinese mainland arguing that Hong Kong, which is far more densely populated than China’s native Hong Kong, has never done universal screening and has been open for control for several months, and everything is normal in Hong Kong society at present, “why has there been no medical run in Hong Kong, and the ‘mainland’ should be so worried about the so-called medical run.”
Ding Liang said: “Hong Kong is a stone’s throw away from the mainland. Hong Kong has a very large population density. Hong Kong has adopted a more scientific and rational approach, and facts have proved that Hong Kong has returned to normal life, and has not suffered as much as the mainland wants the people to endure. I believe that the success of Hong Kong’s epidemic prevention mainly shows that Hong Kong still has the foundation of civil society and the foundation left by the rule of law in the past. Decision-makers are not completely irrational and completely politically attached when making decisions. This virus is the same all over the world, there is no ‘one country, two systems.
The article then questioned the fact that the audience at the ongoing Qatar World Cup did not wear masks: “More than 120 countries in the world have not controlled the new crown for a long time, have the health of the people in these countries been harmed?” Don’t they live on the same planet as we live? Doesn’t the coronavirus hurt them? ”

Analysis, many Chinese still talk about virus color change
observer Ding Liang believes that there are many fans of Chinese football, but not all fans may be inspired by the World Cup broadcast.
Ding Liang said: “It was the opening of the World Cup recently. In previous years, this was a carnival of people from all over the world. A lot of people saw the scene at the World Cup in Qatar. People also think, ‘The whole world is normal.'” Only China is still like this. On the other hand, I am not so optimistic, not every Chinese people will question this. Because of official propaganda, including propaganda about the demonization of the Omicron virus, ordinary people talk about virus discoloration. The long-term propaganda has led many people to really think that the Omicron virus is terrible. The country’s zero-epidemic prevention policy is the best and most effective. The propaganda and education of official brainwashing have made many people really not know the truth.
The “Ten Questions” was deleted shortly after it was published, and the original WeChat public account, Chang’an Classroom, was blocked, but before the authorities blocked it, the article had been viewed 100,000 times on WeChat and shared extensively on other social platforms.
Wu Jianzhong, an associate professor at the Center for General Education at Taiwan’s Taipei Ocean Science and Technology University, who was interviewed by the media, compared the “Ten Questions” to the Sitong Bridge banner incident in Beijing last month.
Wu Jianzhong said: “The ‘Ten Questions’ also asked about the efficacy of [China’s] domestic vaccines and what is the protective power of domestic vaccines. The CCP has never answered such questions. The rhetorical question of the mainland people is actually the same as the banner incident at the Sitong Bridge in Beijing before the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The mainland people should pursue democracy, pursue unblocking, no longer carry out nucleic acid testing, etc., for these epidemic prevention measures, the Chinese people will naturally have a comparative mentality, not only comparing different provinces and cities but also comparing the measures taken by different countries. ”

China’s State Council insisted on optimizing measures to not go awry
, and the Zhengzhou Health Commission announced a five-day “mobile management” from November 25, that is, a disguised lockdown. On November 23, experts from the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council of China responded through the official Xinhua News Agency on how to control the epidemic more accurately and efficiently, emphasizing the need to resolutely overcome paralysis and laxity, adhere to the 20 optimization measures without wavering, not going out of style, based on prevention, based on early, and based on speed. Ordinary type, severe diseases and those at risk of severe disease should be promptly admitted to designated hospitals for treatment. Most of the mild and asymptomatic infections were admitted to the cabin hospital. In areas where epidemics occur, medical institutions with epidemic risk cannot be “closed” or “closed” or “closed” on the grounds of epidemic prevention and control.
It is understood that the current Chinese people’s attitude towards “dynamic zeroing” is divided. Taking Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province as an example, after Chinese officials announced on November 11 that 20 articles of optimized epidemic prevention were published, the local government immediately closed the city’s free nucleic acid monitoring stations, lifted community lockdowns, and no longer checked negative nucleic acid certificates in public places. However, some people are afraid of contracting the disease, and the supporting facilities are not perfect after the relaxation of epidemic prevention measures, some citizens have issued calls for “restoring nucleic acid stations” and “we want nucleic acid”. On the 20th, the Shijiazhuang government announced the resumption of national nucleic acid testing.
